me against the mid-night

"you could read a book..." she suggested. and just before i started to blow off that comment, i thought, hey, that that wasn't such a bad idea actually! so i re-read certain short stories from my Bookworm Gang collection and i felt like it was listening Love 97.2fm... only that i was jamaican. all i could percieve in the end was the same thing over and over again, something along the lines of:

- so smarty and samson wer rollin' down da hood right and sum thug came over n talked trash 'bout simone n they're like waddap nigga n they're all like imma call constable acai (sounds like a bigger gangster anyhow!) n heza pulverize yo ass, bitch! thug: "eh yo that shit ain't cool nigga, we homies man, that shit ain't cool." snorty and fagson: "straight up foo!, so yer don't give simone shit n we don't give you shit, yanoewadamsayin?" thug: "foh'shizzle dawg, we cool, peace out!" -

and so i dropped the idea of reading and decided to go running instead. to some serious surprise, the streets were empty at 12.45am! no i ain't kiddin! i had a great run, listening to brandon flowers and the likes serenading me & me alone with tunes as i made my runs. then fergie came on with "london bridge". at that point of time, i made a mental list of teachers-to-mutilate for not belting out such a vastly different rendition of the song earlier on in my life. daniel powter came on shortly with a song called "Free Loop" and i found myself frustrated after about 212 seconds of trying to listen for the point in the song where he actually mentions the title of the song. don't ask me why i do it, i just do. i couldn't have missed it. it's songs like that that frustrate you, ya know, whenever you listen to such a song and feel like aquiring ( notice i don't use the word "download"... oops i didn't just... did i?) it and you're stuck with that searing question "what's the title of that song?" other songs to mention, "iris" by the goo goo dolls, "take you on a cruise" by the interpol...

so after my shower (no ladies, i don't wanna talk about it... guys, wtf?), i got online (not that im ever off?) and friendstered for a bit... it's really nice to see how people in your life are getting on. even if you haven't seen them since bush made a wise decision, you getta see how they're getting on with just a few clicks. close friends you haven't talked to for stone ages, people you just say "hi" to with your eyes, those people you hate to the core but love to stir negative thoughts about, people who look like they got forced to lose/gain weight at gunpoint, that guy you always wanted to getta know better... alright, was talking bout myself there. so anyway, it was pretty nice to see that the very people were up to the same things, browsing at the people in their friends list, leaving testimonials and letting nostalgia suck on em like anna nicole smith on a millionare. it felt great to know that in such a busy, empty, 2 a.m world, love still hung around. speaking of love, fergie fer said she's gonna love me long time!

so the moral of the entry is, don't sleep before 4a.m. shape your lifestyle to suit mine haha! people... you make the world so wonderful, yet so cruel at the same time. but it's all good, otherwise angels like me would end up working at 7-eleven. god bless.

live big people,

xav
